Attention all Unit Leaders - Download and use the updated Local Tour Permit Application, No. 34426 (large - ~ 1.06 MB). The tour permit updates include: A single matrix to help units plan for qualified supervision for specified activities such as swimming, boating, and shooting sports, and includes expiration of required training; revised certification requiring more of tour leaders than just having a copy of the Guide to Safe Scouting in their possession; space for both phone and e-mail contact information for leaders. (NOTE: You can fill out this PDF and save the data typed into the form.)
As of April 1, 2009 the new training course, "This is Scouting," replaced New Leader Essentials. "This is Scouting" is available online through the BS Online Learning Center. We will no longer be teaching New Leader Essentials. Volunteers who have taken New Leader Essentials will still get credit for that course and do not need to complete "This is Scouting", however they may choose to do so since it is online. You will need to create an account with MyScouting to access the training modules.
