Attention all Unit Leaders - Effective March 1, 2011, what are currently known as local and national tour permits will be superseded by what will be called the tour plan. The online tour permit system will be suspended. This update is the accumulation of work by a cross-functional team of volunteers and staff including the Health and Safety Support Committee, Council Solutions, Outdoor Program Group, and Risk Management Advisory Panels. The plan is available for viewing at http://www.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/680-014_fillable.pdf (NOTE: You can fill out this PDF and save the data typed into the form). There is also a FAQ page at http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/HealthandSafety/TourPlanFAQ.aspx.
Please fill out the South Mountain District Scout Family Survey and return it to your unit leader or email to Amy Frantz (Word document).
As of April 1, 2009 the new training course, "This is Scouting," replaced New Leader Essentials. "This is Scouting" is available online through the BS Online Learning Center. We will no longer be teaching New Leader Essentials. Volunteers who have taken New Leader Essentials will still get credit for that course and do not need to complete "This is Scouting", however they may choose to do so since it is online. You will need to create an account with MyScouting to access the training modules.
